Hieronder zie je een lijst van alle Nederlandse televisiezenders en omroepen. Met mediabedrijf, jaartal, voorzitter en als het nodig is doelregio erachter.
De term zender en kanaal wordt tegenwoordig door elkaar gebruikt en is daarom wat verwarrend. Vroeger was de zender het radio- of televisiestation dat via de lucht (ether) een analoog radio- of televisiesignaal uitzond, dat door de ontvanger (radio of televisietoestel) met een antenne ontvangen werd. Het kanaal was dan zeg maar de keuzeknop op het radiotoestel of televisietoestel dat op die zender was ingesteld. Met de komst van de kabel en het glasvezel kwamen er veel meer zenders/kanalen via de providers als KPN en VodafoneZiggo waaruit een keuze kan worden gemaakt met de afstandsbediening. Nog ingewikkelder wordt het met de zendgemachtigden ofwel de omroepen, die de programma's op de zenders/kanalen verzorgen. Je hebt publieke omroepen (in Nederland werkend onder de NPO) en de commerciële omroepen zoals RTL en Talpa.
