Osaka (Japans: 大阪市, Ōsaka-shi) is de hoofdstad van de prefectuur Osaka in Japan. Naast Osaka ligt Kioto en Kobe, samen vormen ze de de agglomeratie Kansai, de agglomeratie heeft bij elkaar ongeveer 20 miljoen inwoners. Op 1 november 2008 had de stad 2.653.346 inwoners op een oppervlakte van 11.900 km².
