Rangoon (ook wel Yangon) is de voormalige hoofdstad van het Aziatische land Myanmar. Het had deze functie tot en met 2005. Tegenwoordig is de hoofdstad Naypyidaw.
Het inwoneraantal werd in 2005 op 4.082.000 geschat. Daarmee is Rangoon de grootste stad van Myanmar.
