Dev/null
/dev/null is een term die gebruikt wordt op Unix-systemen. Het heeft ongeveer dezelfde functie als de prullenbak op een Windows-computer, met het verschil dat een bestand die naar /dev/null wordt verplaatst, niet meer kan worden teruggehaald. Alle gegevens die naar /dev/null worden geschreven 'verdwijnen'. Het wordt daarom ook wel het 'afvoerputje' van Unix genoemd.
