Dame Margaret Natalie Smith (
Ilford, Essex, 28 december 1934) is een Engelse actrice. Ze is bekend als Maggie Smith. Ze heeft twee keer een Oscar en één keer een Emmy gewonnen.
Haar ouders zijn Nathaniel Smith en Margaret Hutton Little. Ze heeft twee oudere broers, Alistair en Ian. Ze ging naar de Oxford High School, maar ze vond dat niet echt een geweldige ervaring. Maggie acteert al vanaf 1955. Ze is twee keer getouwd geweest. Op 29 juni 1967 trouwde ze met Robert Stephens. Zij kregen twee zoons:
- Chris Larkin (19 juni 1967)
- Toby Stephens (21 april 1969)
Zij scheidden op 6 mei 1974. Een jaar later, op 23 augustus 1975, trouwde ze met Beverley Cross. Het huwelijk eindigde op 20 maart 1998 in Londen, door de dood van Beverly.
