interwikis/interlanguage

Hi there, this is Astirmays, from Vikidia.

Wa spoke, quite a long time ago, aboutdevelopping interwiki/interlanguage link between Vikidia and Wikikids (and possibly others). See here for exemple. It is allready possible here, as on the page Hond.

One user of Vikidia is eager to let a *interlanguage bot work at least on Vikidia. It could work on Wikikids as well and make the reciprocal links to Vikidia in french, spanish and to Simple english Wikipedia. Would you like him to do that ? Would you give him the bot flag, so that its change don't appear when there are too much of them ?

De vraag is simpel gezegd of een gebruiker van Vikidia een bot mag draaien op WikiKids om interwiki-links aan te brengen tussen WikiKids en Vikidia (zoals op Hond al het geval is). Vraag twee is of deze bot een 'bot-flag' mag hebben, zodat de wijzigingen de recente wijzigingen niet overspoelen. Hello Sumurai8. I’m the designer of the bot of which you are talking about here. I can’t understand Dutch without Google Translate, so please excuse me but I guess what you mean in your answer more than I read it. ;) If you want, I can speak English or German (and, of course, French).

My bot is able to link pages as well on the both Vikidia (es. and fr.) as on any wiki which uses the MediaWiki API. It is indeed designed to use the botflag, meaning to have the status of bot; it can do its work without, but this may actually lead to an overload of the list of recent changes.

Thank you. Astirmays sent a email to the WikiKids Staff, as you said. I would like to clarify that, in WikiKids’ point of view, my bot will create, when it’s possible, interwiki links towards Vikidia (.fr + .es), Grundschulwiki (.de), Simple English Wikipedia (.en) and Wikipedia (.nl). If there is, in this list, any website with which you don’t want to be linked, please tell it me soon. The bot will act with an account named Greta GarBot. If Greta GarBot is ready before having the bot status (and thus the botflag), would you like it works anyway (for example, very little daily, but without botflag) ? I’m sorry but, for some unknown reason, it seems to be impossible, with the API, to edit the pages included in the main namespace (and also in the WikiKids namespace, but this isn’t important for the bot). Actually, the robot is able to edit only Gebruiker:thilp and Overleg gebruiker:thilp (of course I didn’t try this on another “gebruiker” page than mine); this is a little embarrasing for making interwiki links. In fact, when the robot try to edit a page (of the main namespace), the answer of WikiKids is the WikiKids’logo with the text : “Sorry, WikiKids is tijdelijk niet bereikbaar - probeer het later nog eens!” Has a robot ever worked on this site by using the API? If yes, does somebody know how to manage with that problem? WikiKids' API works a bit diffrent then other wiki's. I think Sumurai8 can help you further on this case. I will notify him when he comes online. apoo overleg 14 mei 2011 17:14 (CEST)

Hi Thilp,

I remember a similar problem in the past. However, it doesn't make sense to me that editting user pages and user talk pages work fine, but editting the main namespace and wikikids-namespace doesnt. I recently made a bunch of edits with AWB (autowikibrowser) and that worked fine in the main namespace. I am pretty sure AWB works via the api as well. Are you logged in correctly while trying to make the changes (e.g. your cookie might be expired)? Currently I am at work and I cannot try to use http-post requests to see what happens. Does the problem still occur now (there could be a problem back then with the site while you tried to edit with the bot)? Did you try the other way around: Using the editfields here with your bot (e.g. via index.php instead of api.php)? »» sum U rai 8 wp·ll 15 mei 2011 15:23 (CEST)

Een titel van een artikel bedoel je? Op Kidsportaal vind je hier uitleg over. De titel van een artikel is het onderwerp waar je over wilt schrijven. Dus als je wilt schrijven over honden dan noem je het artikel hond. Let op dat een titel wel aan een paar regels moet voldoen. Die lees je op het Kidsportaal. Gerarddummer 13 juni 2011 10:52 (CEST)

ABBU project

Dag allemaal, ik roep iedereen en in het speciaal de moderators op om geen onnodige wijzigingen aan te brengen in de naamruimte van ABBU. Wel stel ik het op prijs wanneer jullie reageren op vragen of zoals volgens mij Jurriaan even een categorie heeft toegevoegd dat is natuurlijk super. Dus gelieve niet de teksten te bewerken in de naamruimte. Ik reken op jullie medewerking. Verder wil ik iedereen bedanken voor zijn inzet. Handtekening

Hi there !

I'd like to know how you let your handtekening work that way... I thought you only wrote {{Gebruiker:Astirmays/Handtekening}} in the oorkeuren - Persoonlijke gegevens, but it doesn't work that way, if I write {{Gebruiker:Astirmays/Handtekening}}, I get {{VERV:Gebruiker:Astirmays/Handtekening}}... How should I do ? By the way, you wouldn't you make a Wikikids:Handtekening page to explain it ?

Why do I ask ? well, I may suggest then that the Vikidia users make as colorful handtekening as here ;-) Astirmays ° Ov 7 juli 2011 23:07 (CEST)
