James McAvoy
James Andrew McAvoy (
Glasgow, 21 april 1979) is een Schotse acteur.
James is de zoon van Elizabeth en James McAvoy. Hij heeft een zus Joy McAvoy, wie zangeres is. Zijn ouders scheidde toen James zeven jaar oud was. James en zijn zus Joy logeerde vaak bij zijn grootouders Mary en James Johnstone. Hij ging naar de St. Thomas Aquinas, een katholieke school. Hij dacht er zelfs een tijd over om priester te worden. In 2000 studeerde hij af van de Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Hij woonde een tijdje in Londen, waar hij een huis deelde met Jesse Spencer, wie nu Dr. Robert Chase speelt in de serie House. Hij is getrouwd met Anne-Marie Duff, wie hij ontmoette op de set van Shameless.
