Het Europees kampioenschap voetbal vrouwen 2021 zal de dertiende editie zijn van het Europees kampioenschap voetbal vrouwen. Het toernooi zal in Engeland worden gehouden. Nederland is de titelhouder. Er doen 16 teams mee. Engeland organiseerde het toernooi in 2005 ook al, tevens was dat de laatste editie met 8 deelnemende landen. De openingswedstrijd van dit toernooi wordt op Old Trafford in Manchester gespeeld en de finale wordt in het Wembley Stadium in Londen gespeeld.

Oorspronkelijk stond het toernooi gepland voor 11 juli tot en met 1 augustus 2021. Omdat op 17 maart 2020 bekend werd gemaakt dat EK 2020 voor mannen naar 2021 zal worden uitgesteld vanwege de coronapandemie in 2020, zal het EK voor vrouwen ook worden verplaatst. Op 1 april 2020 maakte de UEFA bekend dat het toernooi met één jaar is uitgesteld naar de zomer van 2022.

Organisatie

Voor de organisatie van het toernooi hadden Hongarije, Oostenrijk en Engeland kenbaar gemaakt dat ze hierin geïnteresseerd waren. Uiteindelijk was Engeland het enige land dat zijn bod bevestigde voor de deadline, waarmee het Uitvoerend Comité van de UEFA op 3 december 2018 bij een bijeenkomst in Dublin (Ierland) Engeland definitief aanwees als gastland voor het toernooi in 2021.

Kwalificatie

In augustus 2019 begon de kwalificatie waarbij de 15 overige landen zich kunnen plaatsen voor het eindtoernooi. Omdat Engeland het gastland is, is het Engels vrouwenvoetbalelftal automatisch geplaatst.
